One organization cannot solve arts access for all students

MISSION
A music and arts education coalition-building initiative working to identify and mobilize arts and music non-profit organizations across whole communities, one feeder pattern at a time.

VISION
All children in Miami have access to a music and arts education

PROBLEM & SOLUTION
Historically, arts organizations work in silos, do not communicate amongst one another, and view each other as competition. While some schools are oversaturated with 4-6 organizations, the school down the street may lack programming and support for their students. The goal of Arts Access is to build alliances of arts organizations through strategic partnerships that focus on whole communities. These alliances bridge gaps and ensure that every child gains access to high-quality and diverse arts programs from grades K-12, in-school and after-school.

ABOUT US
This initiative was founded by the vision of Daniel Lewis and Rebecca Fishman Lipsey  and is led by The Miami Foundation and Young Musicians Unite under the leadership of Sammy Gonzalez Zeira in an effort to bring a thriving arts education ecosystem to every child in Miami-Dade.

As a result, The Miami Foundation and Dan Lewis in partnership with Young Musicians Unite decided to create the Miami Gardens Music Alliance under the Arts Access Miami initiative.

This alliance brought together all organizations in the area that would focus on providing free music education to all the students in the community, K-12, In-School, and After-School. By bridging gaps and allowing a space for collaboration between non-profits, the alliance ensures that every child gains access to high-quality and diverse arts offerings while leveraging funding and resources to achieve one shared vision across a single community.
